Manava i te fareira’a at the 7th annual “Heiva I Honolulu 2009”. As customary since our very first “Heiva” in year 2003, we will once more have the privilege of hosting all the participants and visitors to this exciting cultural event at the Waikiki Shell Amphitheatre, on March 12 – 14, 2009. We thank all the groups that participated with us last year, especially those from Japan and different parts of the Mainland. With courage and confidence, our brothers & sisters from Japan stepped on that stage and earned the respect of those they competed with as well as
our home crowd.
One of last year’s highlights was the rare opportunity to witness some awesome performances exhibited by three of our top local groups that competed in the Senior Overall Division. No doubt each group in its own right, has raised the bar of excellence to a new level. We welcome our new & returning groups, as well as our new & returning solo dancers. It is our hope that your experience in our Heiva will exceed your expectations as it did those that have come before you. To maximize your experiences at our Heiva, we highly recommend that you observe the following:
· Take the time to study and uphold the rules and regulations. Should you have any questions, please contact us by email or phone.
· Please submit your registration forms & fees in a timely manner. We have been very generous with deadlines in the past however there may be a point that cannot be crossed.
